Update 7/6/2011: Incidentally, the concept of of “as soon as you think it, it becomes real” is one reason we as humans never follow up on many ideas. Sometimes the idea of something is more fulfilling in the short term than acting on it. It’s still real, but we didn’t do anything with it.

The book Feeling Good has a chapter called “Dare to Be Average.” The idea is that many of us get caught in the perfectionist trap and since perfection is unattainable, it can mess you up emotionally/psychologically. However, if you want to be an entrepreneur or an entertainer or something unique, you have to think big. read more

You may have heard about the 90/10 problem or the Pareto priniciple, which is 80/20. There are many interpretations of these laws and rules, such as 90% of life is out of our control and the 10% is our reaction to it. Or 80% of the work is done by 20% of the people. I read more
Chocolate and depression

New data has come out saying depressed people eat more chocolate. The study involved 1,000 people, so the data is probably pretty solid. So far, this is just a correlation.
